UW, That information was broadcast on NPR, and I can only assume that they knew what they were talking about. Since they, usually, have a liberal bent, it must be the truth.

I don't think that any GI is going to shirk his duty, in the first place, and especially if doing so could result in a court martial. There have been quitters in the armed forces, but they are individuals, and not a complete unit. That is just unheard of.
