Real flying means not in one of those rinky-dink trainers. Bush was finally authorized to fly a real high-altitude solo fighter in the spring of 1972, but stopped flying, skipped his drug test then went AWOL. That's a fact.

I believe the plane you're talking about is a training model with an instructor at the stick. But that doesn't really matter. What matters is Bush went AWOL in 1972 and lied about it, possibly to cover up a drug arrest.

Also, there is an eyewitness acccount of GW not knowing how to fly a Cessna in 1976 so obviously his flying abilities were very limited.
