I really like it. :) I can picture a 16 year old guy out in nature, tripping on his snowshoes. It's fascinating to just stare at something and let words come that take in the picture/feel/emotion. I wrote 3 poems in jr high school under duress from the evil English teacher. But I thought a poet was a Kevin, our jr high school wordsmith... handsome, sensitive, and tragic. I was the girl who could throw further than the boys and could whoop 'em all in a fight. lol. Poet never crossed my mind. My first real poem was at 19 when I looked out my window and saw a wizard. I kid you not. It didn't occur to me I was crazy, I just thought, "how interesting, gotta write this down". Ah, the innocence and joy of youth in wizards and snowshoes. :)

there's a wizard outside my window
he points his staff to the heavens
and beckons me to follow
past the planets
past frozen Jupiter
into the bursting flames of the sun
he tempts me with his magic
to the darkness where fires burn
free and feirce
and such sweet magic
plays in our minds
