But the ones that have the most trouble will generally tell you "I remember the first time I" drank alcohol, took whatever, gambled, smoked a cigarette "it was the best thing that ever happened to me". They usually have an abnormally low level of serotonin in their brains, and the drug/activity triggers a larger than normal release.

True, even people with out this predisposition can develop problems. But they are generally easier to cure.
