There is CERTAINLY no basis for suggesting "OUR" liberty is in any way at stake by the detainment of suspected terrorists at GitMo.

Just to clarify,the detainees at Gitmo are not milited to suspected terrorists. The State Department is quoted in this article saying

"Prisoners at the Cuban base include those captured in Afghanistan and Iraq and suspected of association with or membership in extremist organizations. "

It doesn't even say that all of them are suspected of association with extremist organizations. It just says some of them are suspected. And what in the world does it mean to "associate" with an organization? Seems pretty broad to me....
