You are wrong to dismiss this thread's stock, commodity and currency discussions as "trading". We identified the commodity and energy bull markets from very early and are still riding them. For example, Canadian energy trusts (such as COS, FDG, BTE, PMT, etc.) were identified well over a year ago at levels half or even one third of their current prices. Ditto with shipping stocks and a few PM stocks. Many of these stocks pay spectacular distributions to boot.

The effect of Asian and, in particular, Chinese demand on energy, commodities and commodity currencies was discussed extensively here long before it became fashionable. There's (literal) gold underneath all the doom and gloom talk of this thread.
