enjoyed the "muddle through" approach.

I always assume that the "real outcome" in most situations will lie somewhere between the doomsday scenario and the best scenario.

FWIW and IMO the old approach of "diversify" is as good a protection as anyone can hope for unless they are lucky dice rollers.

Some foreign exposure in currency and such, real estate, cash, bonds, equities (across sev. sectors including energy) and gold (in some fashion) should do the trick.

If none of the above provide a degree of protection then we are in a real mess and the next acquisition would presumably be guns.

Since I don't consider/expect the last as a consideration, I will just diversify and "muddle through". Wish me luck.
