A home concert is nothing more than having musicians play in your home in a listening format rather than as background music such as in a restaurant or at an event.

This was quite common in other centuries and before television and radio and of course the computer. Music was played in homes in parlors. Having a home concert in your home is a way of having a performer withou you as host paying the expenses for the performer-----except for refreshments. Generally, people who come often contribute to the musician to support their music.

In the 1800's in New York City----musicians would have what were known as "rent" concerts. To pay their rent they would put a sign outside their abode and invite people to come in for $5.00 and listen to them play-----to help them pay their rent.

Yes Alastair Moock was here last night-----go to www.alastairmoock.com and you can link to samples of some of
his music. He did the concert here with just himself and guitar----so an intimate concert. His CD will have him with his band. Check out this link for his bio and samples of his music--------www.alastairmoock.com

Basically it is an evening of live music at home.
