Hi Liam. I got your Post.

I'm not a computer guy but if you put your old drive back in an set it to slave or secondary it should work as fast as it normally would. You should notice no difference in the speed of the old one.

But it may only work as fast as your slowest component. HDrive in this case.

I wanted to do 16 mg SD ram and 16 EDO but I was informed the EDO would slow the SD to EDO speed. So I ordered 32 SD. Then they showed me the new 10ns Seimens 64k block when I got there to pick it up. It was the 1st 10ns block they had seen. All they had seen prior was 12ns.
Well, you know the rest of the story.

Yes the kids are happy with their computer now.

And since I'm using 64K ram now those prescans usually all load in ram and I have little or zero disk access on the final scans. The salesman knew what I wanted and did his job.

I still have a slot for another block.:-)
