>>I won't know which side to be on when the Germans and French are at it again.
Neither me. (That's an Americanism, I think.)
I am (in alphabetical order) Cherokee, Chippewa, Croatian, English, French, and German -- possibly also Irish and Welsh, not sure yet.
I know for sure that some of my forebearers were Catholic, Church of England, Jewish, Quaker, and either Mennonite or Lutheran or maybe both. Not to mention whatever the Native Americans practiced, I assume some form of animism until the French persuaded the Chippewa to become Catholics.
So there are actually very few Europeans and Native Americans I can dis, although I can still look down on Africans and Asians - although one ancestress was accused of being a mulatto circa 1843 in a nasty family lawsuit - but that accusation apparently never went anywhere - but to be on the safe side, maybe I should only say nasty things about Asians. On the other hand, Native Americans are closely related to Asians so maybe I should just be nice to everybody.
I recently got a GeneSwab DNA specimen collection kit from Genetree DNA testing center, and intend to have my dad tested for Y-chromosome (paternal DNA - for genealogy) and mitochonrial DNA (mtDNA) (maternal), and my mom tested for the mtDNA. This should be interesting. |
