We may be getting closer to the discharge answer.

I am hearing tonight (unconfirmed, but good source) that Kerry's security clearance was revoked in 1970 or 1971. The time frame when Kerry when was conducting the phony winter soldier hearings and meeting with the Vietnamese Communists in Paris.

Every US Military Officer is required to maintain a secret or higher clearance. This is mandatory.

Without a security clearance Kerry would be discharged immediately if he was Army Officer.
The Navy must have a similar reg.

Unless it is a goofy rumor, I expect more on this shortly.
I get a lot of rumors I never post. I like my source for this one.
