A taped appearance is good enough, given his health. Clinton really shouldn't be flying around doing any campaigning. It's better if he focuses on recovering his health. As much as I'd like to see Clinton help Kerry win, I'd rather see Clinton live a long life. There will be more battles ahead.
On a different note, I believe I converted one Bush voter from a key battle ground state into a Kerry voter.
Issues important to their state are: - economy (jobs, wages) - health care - the war
I focused on the following key points: - it's normal for a country to have a recession, but after every recession you need to have higher level jobs from research to get the economy up. Bush is against stem research and he hasn't done anything to help research, 60 Nobel scientists have signed a document indicating they are displeased with Bush's hinderance to science. - when the midwest lost auto manufacturing jobs, the auto makers invested in higher RND and the research schools in turn invested in new innovative research, things like biotech and computers started giving jobs to displaced auto workers. - While Bush gives tariffs to 19th century industries he hasn't done much for 21st century industries. Every day we fall behind in innovation and research, will make it that much harder ten years from now as we compete in the global world. You have to invest in the future, but Bush doesn't look ahead. He doesn't even know the figures of where this country stands with communication broadband compared to other countries that have surpassed us. Kerry does. Kerry is aware of the problems. I'm concerned about Bush because he is not only unaware of the problems but he is anti-research. Research has always been the driving force of this country's economic future. - if you don't invest in research, your country starts going down hill and you don't recover from recessions like you used to. Only innovation and research creates new industries for new jobs. - Why is Bush against stem cell research when we have so many baby boomers retiring? - While Bush is focused on steel, China is focused on innovative research. That's my concern with Bush. He's not a true Republican. He doesn't know anything about business. His Dad and Reagan were so much better. Bush is a religious fanatic, not a businessperson. - Bush doesn't invest in the future. What we do over the next 4 years in research are critical to the future of this country. I don't think Bush gets that.
