HD speeds and slowest disk issue. That answer still out there as to how to use a IDE HD for Backup/Copy files role efficiently and whether the whole parade speed is limited by the slow disk. Anyway, your mention that the big scan calculations are on data already in RAM encourages me to think that additional RAM may net more speed than a superfast disk doing the scans and MS6. Sump'n to ponder. Glad you mentioned your experience here. Liam
