I agree with enam luf's response to you.

Just like Bush has awakened and energized the people in this country who don't want a religious monarchy here, he has also been great for terrorist recruiting.

The main reason Putin likes Bush is that Bush has no moral high ground from which to tell Putin not to take radical measures himself. He can do whatever he wants with no problems.
