The underlined part is pure NONSENSE! The truth is that a trial balloon for peace was floated as early as 1968 by Senator Cabot Lodge after the North Vietnamese wrested the initiative of the war from the Americans and allies. But Johnson would not give up. Nor would Nixon. Neither wanted to be the first president to lose a war in US history! Despite Kerry's testimony in 1971 advocating for ending the war, the war dragged on until 1975. It was not Kerry's fault that the prisoners were held longer. The fault lay with Nixon ---- a Republican! Omigawd! Now Repubniks (Repulsives) are lying and "smearing" out of desperation...........
