Corridor Communications Corporation Announces Additional Services for Quik Internet of the Valley Inc., an ISP Serving Salem and Albany, Oregon
Quik is Now Marketing to its Over 1200 Subscribers, New Wired and Wireless Broadband Services and Accelerator Dial Up Service (to speed normal dial up 5x as fast) 10/19/2004 11:28:00 AM MESA, Ariz., Oct 19, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Corridor Communications Corporation (CORR) -- Quik Internet has announced new rates for dial up customers and expanded broadband services at new benchmark rates. Quik is an established Oregon ISP serving cities located on the I-5 corridor from Albany to Newberg. Quik Internet provides wired and wireless broadband, dial up Internet access, DSL, email and web site hosting. With these combined services Quik has a marketing advantage over other dial up only ISP's. Quik is working to convert all dial up customers to the new $29.99 per month DSL or wireless 802.11 plan.
With the acquisition earlier this year of Ash Creek Wireless and Quik Internet, Corridor is now positioned to provide a full offering of Internet services to every potential customer in the Central Willamette Valley. Quik Internet's subscribers will be able to continue with their wired connection but now have wireless roaming capabilities within Corridor's existing and future HOTZones provided by Ash Creek. At the same time the existing wireless customers will now have a dial-up option when traveling outside the area. Corridor is positioning for a large scale wireless roll out that will include purchasing additional dial up ISP's.
Chris Lindgren of Quik Internet stated, "I have always thought joining with a broadband service provider was a good idea; the new service package we can offer existing dial up customers is somewhat unique in this marketplace. We are excited about becoming part of Corridor Communications. As subscribers move from dial up to broadband, we have a very competitive set of products that even the bigger Telcos are not offering. We are covering all the bases; currently we provide high speed satellite internet, we sell DSL in all Qwest territories, we sell DSL in all Verizon territories, we offer high speed dial up internet and we offer high speed wireless service."
"The plan we envisioned earlier this year of joining two service providers with unique and complementary products is taking hold. We have always known new subscriber acquisition costs are very high with today's competitive markets and expensive advertising costs. Instead our strategy has been to take existing subscribers via dial up and convert the ones we would have otherwise lost, to our broadband products. Buy joining Ash Creek and Quik we have generated a very competitive platform. With combined infrastructure and a hard to beat set of products, we expect to see our central Oregon operations very profitable," said J. Michael Heil, Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
