Sure, why not. As GST noted, my issue is really "means testing": I do not think that seniors and some other groups should automatically get subsidies, when they often can afford to take care of themselves at a comfortable level.

And I think that the wealthy pay more than their fair share of taxes. Why nickel and dime them on top of it? It also adds to the operating costs of the system to have means testing.
