Why would adding Nader to the mix take away from Bush? I don't understand that at all.

It gives an alternative to those who would vote for Bush or Kerry while holding their noses. It appears that some tiny part of Kerry's complaints about Bush are true. Personally, I think he's a dumb ass Texas cowboy who jumped into IRAQ with a war only to avenge Saddam's "plot" to kill his daddy, with no thought about what it would do to the country's economy, deficit, and debt, and how much it would piss off our "allies" who were up to their eyeballs stealing money from the UN and taking bribes and oil from Saddam. To say nothing about 1100 lost lives of our best and brightest and 5000 more wounded. And both numbers rising every day. A terrible waste. Might be better to nuke those savages over there and wherever else in the world they are.

Whew! Now I feel better......., I think.
