That's 39 COMBAT DEATHS OF US TROOPS ONLY. What about the number of dead Iraqis which, estimates are, range from 300 to 500 dead for every 1 dead US Troop.
If you're going to cite stats, don't do the Brit Hume bs don't-confuse-me-with-factual-numbers stats. Iraq is the most dangerous place in the world. It's so dangerous that NGOs and even the press have or are going to pull out. The UN barely has a presence there and 140,000 US Troops can't even keep the Green Zone protected.
Would you rather spend a month in a hotel in Detroit or a hotel in Baghdad? Think it through and start confusing yourself with facts.
WWII killed 20 million people. 911 killed 3,000. By your analysis, 911 is a blip, a nothing and certainly no reason to do anything like invade a country which wasn't responsible for it.
US dead: 1100. US medical evacuations: 28,850. Recruitment down. Stop-loss, backdoor draft instituted. Bush planning a draft to begin in mid 2005. Morale is so low that psychologists nearing 60 (!) are being deployed to back up army shrinks.
Clinton came much, much MUCH closer to getting OBL than Bush ever did. He sent in 80 missiles to hammer the Afghanistan training camps BEFORE 911. Bush went on vacation. Bush ignored 40 FBI warnings, the COLE, Clarke, the Clinton admin's admonitions, the PDBs, etc. in order to snooze in Crawford.
Bush IS RESPONSIBLE FOR 911. A vote for Bush means that you think 911 was a good thing. |
