Short Sellers & Howard's Past

To be fair to the short sellers concerning past and present, I include this link:
Message 20151578

There is a rash of rumors/lies/misinformation and smear campaigning ongoing on various other message boards.
To be fair, even more than fair to people that would continue promoting such garbage I want to include a link to this story:

Court Upholds $480,000 Verdict Against Reporter
For Publication of ''Rumor''

"A public figure whose libel claim failed could still recover damages for false light invasion of privacy arising from publication of a false ''rumor'' about his purported criminal past, a federal district court has ruled. (Howard v. Antilla, March 30, 2001.) The ruling leaves intact a $480,000 jury verdict against a reporter for The New York Times.

The court's ruling is a reminder that even the truthful, unbiased reporting of allegations does not necessarily insulate a reporter from liability....."

This decision was latter reversed citing First Amendment violations.

Prospective bashers, be forwarned, it must have cost a lot of money for both sides. But newspapers have a lot of money.
