Ray,
I agree that all these side shows such as conventions, glorified press conferences (aka debate) and pundit polls are real
distractions from having candid discussions about the country or its future. These elections cycles allow rich corporations to bribe the candidates in advance and to make the slimy media's quarterly reports positive. If you look closely both
candidates are more of the same in most of the issues.
So the sheeple need some emotional issues to feel being part of the herd and get some illusory "we are the great" assurance.

Simple logic will dictate that Bush cannot win this election. Here is my reasoning:
1) People who voted for Gore in 2000 are not going to vote for Bush this time.
2) Plus, Bush pissed off a lot of people during these 4 years due to false war, poor economy, arrogance and unemployment.
3) Plus, people who registered for this election are mostly immigrants, teenagers, and those who did not bother about previous elections. Majority of this added population will lean toward Kerry than to Bush.
4) Bush did not win the last election.
So Kerry will win this election. You can safely ignore polls and all those side shows.

However, Bush may win this election if and only if,
a)He does another Florida with the help of Supreme crooks
or
b) Pulls another 9/11 before the election
or
c) Brings out Osama (or a fake version of him like his Thanksgiving Turkey) either from his white house basement or from Muzaraf's Pakistan motel.
or
d) Out right voting fraud (as promised by Diabold in Ohio) in select key states.

So don't rule out anything till the next guy is sworn in.

At the risk of being repetitive, or perhaps trying to get through some sort of mental block, trust me that the only reason that we have polls, and the only reason that they see-saw back and forth is to titillate the unsophisticated and to distract the public from policy discussions.

Americans seem obsessed with finding every possible way to avoid real politics, i.e. policy discussions.

The polls are simply a distraction. Why is it so hard for people to understand that they are a fraud, a distraction and a complete and utter waste of everyone's time?

Everyone, please repeat after me:

POLLS ARE A FRAUD!

POLLS ARE A DISTRACTION!

POLLS ARE A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME!

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.... Lather, Rinse, Repeat.... Lather, Rinse, Repeat.... Lather, Rinse, Repeat.... Lather, Rinse, Repeat.... Lather, Rinse, Repeat....
