WRONG. You're simply in denial that Bush has always despised programs like SS and Medicare and is intent on dismantling them.

Bush is NOT a conservative, he's a radical. He is doing the following (if you don't believe it then you're simply in deep, deep denial):

1. Privatizing social security is simply the first step in making it so expensive that it is unsustainable. At that point, it will be fully privatized which will eliminate it. Social Security is a government insurance policy not some version of a 401K plan.

See what companies have done over the last few decades. Pensions have given way to 401K plans. Pensions have gone bye-bye. SS is headed for the same problem.

Current funds are used to pay current liabilities and not just for retirees. Where is the privatizing money going to come from? Do you think brokerage firms will take an IOU?

2. Medicare ditto.

3. All other social programs ditto.

The entire point of Bush's Presidency is to shift massive amounts of money from the general public to the wealthiest minority (top 1/10th of 1%) of individuals, families and corporations. He doesn't hide any of this.

You are in complete denial. Get a clue before it's too late.
