jttmab, RE: "Was the #1 killer of women heart attacks 30 years ago"

Cardiologists were clamouring for RND on women symptoms about 20+ years ago. The problem is the research universities are quite biased and are not forced to be equal with their funds in research projects towards both genders. Try getting them to do research on women. I mean, even today immunology illnesses (Lupus, etc.) are some of the least researched areas and this is because it impacts women more than men (80% women off the top of my head), so who cares, it's not a priority in a male dominated system such as ours.

Ironically, the day after reading your post there was an article about a MALE only study for something related to blood/heart. I wish I could find it. They're still doing research on only the one gender. How ironic hey? I think a law should be created that basically says, you need to do research on both genders (e.g. for the heart), not just one. It's fair to do a male only study, but then they should balance this out with a female only study too.

We need to kick out Congress and get some people that believe in equality - and actually act and implement equality. Not lip service to it.

Firing Bush would be a huge step in the right direction.
