A retirement thread! Great idea and thanks for starting this. I retired about 2-1/2 years ago. I spent about 35 years in commercial printing sales and sales management. Stressful work and about the only reward was good pay. I worked that last 7 or 8 years without ever taking a vacation, since I was always paid on commission. If I didn't work I didn't have much of an income.

I'm as busy right now as I care to be. I am debt free except for a couple hundred a month to Visa. I care for an aging mother and an uncle, both in assisted living. I try to trade futures twice a week and do reasonably well when I can pay attention.

I have taken a couple classes in acrylic landscape painting and try to do that a couple days a week. This is really relaxing and sometimes frustrating at the same time. I also got more active in my church.

My time is pretty well filled, but I have the same problem many have mentioned here. I have far too much cash that isn't at work and I'm not sure what to do about that.

Looking forward to some productive exchanges here.
