RE: "The flu season is nearly on us"

It's already started. A child of one of our employees was throwing up last week. The parent was out with a nasty cold. Another worker got a nasty cold. Another child of an Intel employee was throwing up this week. A neighbor of mine said she is ill with the flu. And then another person said they have the flu. That's a bunch of people in just a week and it's only October.

You ain't seen nothing yet if the current avian flu [as distinguished from the current human flu] gets into the general population. In at least two cases so far, they have determined that the avian flu has been transmitted between two humans instead of between a bird and human. If this flu mutates, and makes human to human transmission more feasible, we are in for a world of hurt. There is no vaccine yet for the avian flu........and its a killer.

As for the general flu, Mr. Bush was too busy getting read for the RNC in September to pay much attention to the shortfall that was reported back then.
