The facts you report about ethanol are extremely interesting. I wonder if the temperate zone countries can grow sugar cane as cheaply as tropical Brazil. US sugar is protected by high tariffs, suggesting that even Florida isn't warm enough for cheap production of sugar. Ethanol from corn is a known phenomenon but I don't know how cheap it is. Countries like India and the S.E.
Asian countries can benefit from Brazilian technology. Maybe we should buy sugar plantation stocks. Chinese run companies in Malaysia are the first possibility that springs to mind. I'll look into this when I get a moment and report back.
