Yes, it would certainly seem so and, worse still, and as I understand it, the agenda of neither party is in line with the historical principles of the party.
As someone who is more of the right than the left, I appreciate the soul-searching of the thinking American, especially the species known as the paleo-Conservative. In the circumstances, I found this series of articles run by the American Conservative very enjoyable and illuminating -- although bringing one no closer to a solution to the dilemma -- how the US can have a conservative government -- but without W and, particularly, the Trotskyites who are running the Pentagon (neocons).
