You ascribe a label to people that suggests that there is an ideology out there promoting partial birth abortion and higher taxes as a matter of principle

There are perhaps few who "support late term abortion as a matter of principle", at least there are very few who actually would go around encouraging very late term abortions. May liberals do however support abortion being legal at any point in a pregnancy, while a majority of the population would support outlawing late term, esp. "partial birth" abortions.

As for "high taxes as a matter of principle" - Well the term "high" is of course subjective but you can find quite a few people who do supporter higher taxes on the rich as a matter of principle. And quite a few others who wouldn't say they support it as an absolute principle that applies at any time, but usually seem to be ready to support higher taxes at just about any specific time the question comes up.

This conversation is really getting off topic. Perhaps we should take it to another thread or to PMs.
