Additionally, neither Buckley, Bush, or any other mortal can know where we would be today had we not gone to war. (Unless, perhaps, there exist parallel universes where our alter-egos made different decisons than we did and the consequences are being played out).
I made a simple point. He went into this war on dishonest AND/OR (let's say) incompetently-established grounds (he got what he wanted), unnecessarily precipitously, which doesn't bother him a whit, (then he says, "What's the difference?"). He didn't plan competently (unless you count praying and praying), he suppressed dissenting views that might have suggested other options, and now you collude with President What-Me-Worry to pretend that no better uses for those dead Americans' lives, and those billions upon billions of dollars, than the one that has brought us to our present pass, could have been devised. |
