RE Gold coins:

Excellent idea. Forgot I had some. Bought 8 back in the 1970's at a near high around $600 but never regreted the price.

Traded one for my sisters used Cadillac. Which was big step up from from a '78 Fairmont. Smooth.

Gave one to friend as part payment for Mercedes diesel. Which is a big step up from a CAD and the most durable car that can be found..
I ended up buying and repairing and selling those. 14 of them. Still have 4 of the MBZs.
Call it a hobby, but have little time for it in recent years as I am still finishing this house.

Gave 2 gold pieces to my sons, as a present and as inclination to save .

Still have few. And despite paying too much they been useful in other ways
