mish, I don't think China will ever peg its currency to gold. It will simply revalue against the dollar. For example, if $1 buys 5 Yuan, it will suddenly just buy 4. Commodities will definitely go up in dollar terms, but whether or not a full 20% would be the question. They will probably stay flat in Yuan terms. The impact on the Euro will be modestly positive. Unless the Chinese peg to the Euro. Then it would be a huge positive, but I consider that a low probability.
