Yukos resumes full oil supplies to China

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian oil giant YUKOS has resumed full oil supplies to China after reducing rail exports by two-thirds several weeks ago. The company halted shipments after failing to pay rail charges.

According to a Russian Rail official, YUKOS will pay weekly until the end of the year. And starting today, problems in relations between YUKOS and the railways has ceased to exist.

YUKOS, Russia's largest oil exporter, suspended all deliveries to the China National Petroleum Company in September.

That amounted to a loss of nearly 400 thousand tons of oil per month or 100 thousand barrels per day. Meanwhile, YUKOS' supplies to Sinopec remained normal at about 200 thousand tons per month.

Carrying supplies to China is the Russian railways' key expansion project and officials want to boost shipments to 300 thousand barrels per day by 2006.
