The ban on ammo is for armor piercing ammo. SO before you spout off about that, undersand that almost all centerfire rifle cartridges will penetrate the minimum required body armor, which the amendment stated as the threshold for ammo. even the lowly and widely loved "deer hunting" cartridge of the .30-.30 has penetrated armor and killed the officers wearing it.
