The National Journal 'study' only examines ONE voting year (2003). Which just so-happens to be a year the Senator was out campaigning for President, and so missed many votes... showing up for some of the more controversial ones.

The scholarly analysis I posted examined ALL 20 years Kerry has been in the Senate, over 6,300 recorded votes.
