Not just P. Diddy...Russell Simmons, LL Cool J...All the pioneers in the Rap arena seem to be working hard to 'Rock The Vote' and register new voters...The vast majority of their audience will be voting for Kerry.

btw, Here's a review of a music group John Kerry was in when he was young...;-)

<<...The Electras [ft. Senator John Kerry]: "Ya Ya" Poor rich John Kerry: He doesn't haunt a fraction of the MP3s that his opponent Georgeface Killah does. Oh, but when he was 16, he played a mean, stodgy-boogie bass in a high school surf-ish cover band whose tightness suggests either The Shaggs or Artistic Vice, the album Daniel Johnston made with too many of his West Virginia church brethren. A sampler of The Electras' work is hosted on Kerryrocks.com, which tried to recruit young 2004 artists to sample or reinterpret the band's (mostly) instrumentals, yielding songs with lyrics such as, "In terms of foreign policy, he's playin' it cool," and, "Come and get free tonight."
I've listened to the whole 1961 album, and this is the only track during which The Electras unleash. Their version may not be as soulful as Lee Dorsey's original, but you get an extra 30 seconds of rocking, several one-key solos, and some bizarre offtime jazzy drum fills. Aren't we all, "Sittin in la-la/ Waiting for my ya-ya"? Did the Bush kid ever do anything this suave?...>> |
