I take a reversal of trend seriously.

The change is not big enough or long enough to be reasonably considered a reversal of the trend.

The loss of health insureance is entirely due to employers not providing health insurance. The reason that employers don't provide health insurance is because they don't have to.

They never had to, but there are tax advantages to compensating people this way rather than paying them cash and having them buy their own insurance. These tax advantages have less impact when the cost of health care grows so much as to make health insurance too expensive. Not only do you have the general cost of health care going up and pushing up insurance costs, but gradually you have more and more coverage requirements witch also push the cost of health insurance up.

re: The country is going further in to debt primarily because of increases in spending. Of course Bush gets a lot of blame for that but the blame should be put on the right thing.

More than half is from the tax cuts, loss of revenue.

Not true.

The rest is from his lack of spending discipline. He get's the blame all right.

He certainly deserves blame on this. He's not the only one, but the blame on others doesn't take away from the blame on him.

re: No really. Taxes and spending should be much lower.

You are half right.

We disagree on what we want but the point was that despite your claim I am not happy with the status quo.
