The 15.3 example I use would remain the same. As you pointed out it works out to be 7.65 per side(employee/er). Since I'm self employed I pay both ends so its no skin off my back. What is skin off my back is the fact that I could die when I'm 67 and not get anything nor would my son benefit in that scenario. Health care has gone up but its been going up steadily for 12+ years. Gas is a different issue - we've probably enjoyed low costs for too long in this country. $2-$2.50 is probably a reality we'll have to deal with. But this "blame bush" garbage is a crock. He's messed up some things and he's done well on some others....just like every other president. What I'm not willing to do is hand the keys over to Kerry so he can create some monster health plan that will turn out to be as bad as SS. At this point its not worth fighting over.
