You might think that liberal policies are good for most people, or particularly poor people or other people that need assistance for some reason, but that's not the case.

In the short run, liberal policies might help some people, but in the long run they weaken society, weaken the economy and eventually hold back progress on a large scale. Progress and economic strength bring improved standards of living for everyone. Liberalism over the long run has a negative effect on the standard of living for everyone, even the people that they claim to be helping.
