Bush didn't say that Jesus said it was OK to kill people. That's a downright flakey thing to say.

George W Bush has said on numerous occassions that Jesus Christ is most important in his life. George Bush wears his beliefs on his shirt sleeves. He has no doubts about it.

George W. Bush has no doubts about pre-emptively killing potential threats to our way of life.

Please reconcile those two positions for me in a non flakey way.

Lookit. Do you honestly believe that if Kerry is President, nobody will be killed? No soldiers killing civilians, no civilians killing soldiers?

Kerry has repeatedly said that he will try everything else first before resorting to war and killing.

Lookit. I think I understand Kerry's position on this. I think I have the same issues to deal with. I can't resolve the moral values that have been handed down to me and the values that I have to live with. The best I can do is to do the best I can. I have to do as little harm as I can. But, inevitably some of the things I support is directly in conflict with some personally held beliefs that were in part handed down to me.

But, I am not blaming anyone else. I am old enough to take full responsibilities for my actions.

When the day comes and I have to defend myself, I will of course say I did as much as I could in reducing the amount of damage that I helped to cause. That others did far worse than me.
And, deep down I knew I should not have taken the easy way out.

But, if the decision goes against me, I will not be totally surprised. I made my choices.

The fact that you and George Bush do not have these kinds of worries does not give me much comfort.
