Well your limited to 3 shots and most folks would want all three so a double is out. I've never seen a double made in the 3" magnum which is an almost minimum for geese in the 12ga IMO. I could be wrong about that though. I guess the double barrel is just not my choice of weapon at any rate. I'm not a gentlemen it's obvious.

I use a 12ga 3 1/2" magnum Mossberg for geese and turkey that kills on both ends. The newer versions all have muzzle brakes which made them much more friendly but my wife bought me this for our anniversary so I will use it and like it:)

Can't imagine how JFK would kill a goose without firing a shot. Must be one fast moving high jumping SOB.

Edit: I would also ad that killing something your not intending to eat is a big time no no in my book. And in every true sportsmans book. This isn't helpful to him IMO.
