Columnist Coulter pelted with pies Phoenix, AZ, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Two men threw custard pies at conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter during her speech at the University of Arizona. The Arizona Daily Wildcat reports Coulter was speaking to a packed house at Centennial Hall, answering questions from the audience Thursday night when the men ran up on stage and threw the pies. They missed her face but, according to police, one of them hit her in the shoulder. Up until the pie-throwing incident, Coulter's speech was uninterrupted, even though a few dozen protesters stood outside with signs. Coulter made light of the situation even after one of the men was taken away in handcuffs.
