Gary - Re: ""The failure rate was higher than we'd like," said Steve
Tobak, vice president of corporate and channel marketing at Cyrix, in Richardson, Texas. "

Uh, Steve, - how high a failure rate would you like?

Uh, Cyrix customers - how high a failure rate would you like?

The SHOCKING THING here is that, with so few processors being shipped (30,000 to 50,000), the failure rate SHOULD BE IMMEASURABLE!

Yet, 10,000 were recalled!

Let's see - 10,000/50,000 failures in 3 months (2110 hours) yields a failure rate of 20%/2110 hours = 80% PER YEAR!

Yes, Steverino - your customers will be experiencing nearly 100% failures by next May 30 (1998) for parts already shipped.

Clue No. 1 - Why did IBM, manufacturer of Cyrix's 6x86MXSH*T decide to offer AMD K6's in their newer Aptivas?

Clue No. 2 - Who's on First?
