hi gregor, i will refrain from the bulk of this conversation regarding abram/abraham, but i would like to offer up one point to meditate upon. >> There are many instances of name changes in the bible. Jacob to Israel the most notable along with Abram. << notice how after God changed abram's name to abraham, it never changed back. he was always known as abraham going forward. after jacob's name was changed to israel, sometimes God would revert to calling him jacob again. this pattern also follows for his descendants the children of israel. sometimes they are called israel or house of israel, sometimes they are called jacob or house of jacob. this is by no means an accident. something to think about...
