Carl - Re: "Does the K6 have a bug?"

Answer - Does Jerry Sanders ever tell lies?

The K6 has a problem with memory configurations exceeding 32 MByte while attempting to COMPILE certain C++ programs.

Other details have been published - check August 22 - 25 on the AMD thread.

Then, compare this to AMD's announcement of "availability" problems for the K6 (See AMD's Web Site):

"AMD-K6TM MMXTM Enhanced Processor Availability

August 25, 1997

Due to an overwhelming response to the new AMD-K6TM MMX TM enhanced processor, demand is exceeding current supply. AMD appreciates the interest and support you have provided in reselling this new AMD-K6 product family. We are working diligently increase supply for your AMD-K6 needs."

I'd say, AMD is in some kind of real trouble.
