$2 today compared to 1974 and 1979 prices is nothing. Yeah, but why the sudden, end of the Bush administration, run-up? His reelection will assure the continued slide of the dollar, and the associated increase in global commodities. Inflation adjusted or not, we have experienced quite a short-term adjustment.
