think polls are very scientific. There is no doubt about it, no matter what they say about cell phones etc, Bush is ahead in scientific polling

Nah, don't let anyone kid you, polling is still an art form even among the best. How to get a random sample, how to determine who is really going to vote, how to find defects in your sample and correct them, it's a guessing game even among the best pros. People are simply not truthful about certain things (eg. they will always overreport their intention to vote) so you can't just ask them.

If the polls were really scientific, they would all cluster in a 3% - 4% range; the actual range is over 10%.
