Thanks for the report David. So one should be able to sit down and figure out how much potential revenue is available in leasing the dark fibers. That would be an interesting number to know.

Another thing that impressed me about Qwest is that they went right for the highest bandwidth technology available commercially today, namely, OC-192 with a WDM upgrade path. They signed Nortel, one of the best equipment manufacturers, to provide this equipment.

Their capacity will be light-years ahead of AT&T, MCI and Sprint. In fact, Qwest will be so far ahead it makes you wonder how the others will ever catch up. AT&T must really be sweating this one.
