Actually, no new Catholic Church for decades in Humble makes sense now that I re- read the article. The new modern church wasn't built until 1969. That's a lifetime for the Catholic Church which was booming during those years....especially where there were many Hispanics who are predominately Catholic. From 1915 till 1969 they were kept from expanding into a larger building. The 1915 times were very different from post war era up to 1970. The Houston area has grown alot during those times. IF you look up churches for Humble on Yahoo you will find there are a gazillion churches( mostly Baptist). There are two Catholic churches and only one in Humble............the St Martha's is actually in Kingwood, TX. which is adjacent to Humble. I'll ask my son again as he just moved to Kingwood from Humble ( it's a whole few blocks from his former residence ). churchangel.com
