AK, RE: "how would you explain bin ladin then? He was not starving nor was he poor."

When a country is starving or hopeless it can be more easily mislead by a horrible leader.

I think that's why it's critical to build a country up economically.

RE: "How would you explain Arab countries supporting extermination of all Israelis?"

There is no excuse for an Arab country to support the extermination of Israelis.

I think their people are easily mislead because they are oppressed by the Arab countries government, intolerance to other religions, discord with land, a low per capita income, and limited rights. Toss in oppression of Palistinians, and that's a light on their oppressed fire. The people I know in Israel say the terrorists were the unemployed people.

I think Israeli government has the wrong approach though - they should either take Palestine over and build the country up or back off completely. The half-solution approach where they bulldoze a few buildings doesn't seem to be working, it seems to stir up more anger.

Japan and Germany never attacked us - after we built them up. Afghanistan (bin Laden) did - because we never built them up.
Take your pick.

RE: "How would you explain muslim's support of Hitler?"

US history courses don't teach this, so am not aware of Muslim's supporting Hitler, so I have no clue why they would.

RE: "It is not like Germany was a poor nation"

Germany was a very poor nation according to US history. I recall a photo in my history book showing Germans pushing around wheel-barrows filled with their life savings just to buy one loaf of bread. Apparently, hyperinflation created a situation of starvation in Germany. Does starvation make a society wacko?
