I find it interesting how the White House is playing the explosives issue like it, surprisingly, just got announced by the Iraqi Interim Government to the United Nations and that now, therefore, it is in the stream of public consciousness.

I guess the Coalitional Provisional Authority, although the occupying power charged with Iraq's security, didn't have had any role.

Based on the recent CNN reporting from the Pentagon, it appears DOD has circled its wagons so its top stovepipers can figure how exactly to say when it knew what it knew regarding the missing explosives.

You see, the problem is that Bush and Cheney kept telling America that we're safer. These missing explosives--tons, not pounds!--in the hands of terrorists represent quite a a serious upgrade for them to conduct terrorist attacks.

For example, do we now know where the Madrid explosives came from? Certainly worthy of consideration.
